1978-2003.

IIn 1978 I studied at the new Sydney College of the Arts, specializing in Photography and Sculpture, two years later doing a Post-Grad at Alexander Mackie in New Arts.

Although my early photo practice could be 'street photography', it might also be called 'the Intense Gaze'.

During this period, my work was intermittent, as I ran a tourist business, started a family, launched a Bicentennial project, wrote two non-fictional books, researched Australian photography, and wrote a novel. I was also fascinated by Apple Mac computers, this experience, leading to my next burst of photography, Fruits of the Imagination.
