My daughter insists that I should explain this image. Why is it , she asks, called 'Three Ruins'?
'Explaining' often means explaining- it-away. However, let's say that there are three clearly different areas in the work, and that each one is a 'ruin'. Ruins in Europe are common, so locals are often blase; for tourists, they are a means of 'connection'. With a vivid imagination, and a mind that learns from history, well...
